v-minion skrat 1.0 board not responding

Hello,

I just bought a v-minion and I repaeatedly fail to get a connection from the pi to the board. I did all the steps in the configuration dialog, but flashing does not happen with either method. My current state: pi is on (still with separate powering), connected to the local wifi net and I can open the config page. The board is on, the red and green lights are on. they are connected via USB. When starting the board, it does not react to the micro sd card with firmware.bin on it ( no green flashing, no rename). Ratos keeps not recognizing the board.

My questions( as the type of connection between pi and board is not mentioned in the guides): Is it correct to connect the boards via USB? How can I check, wether the borad is ok? Any other ideas?

Thanks

Michael

So I can (partly) answer myself.

After some tries I could flash the board via USB connection, but not via SD card. So obviously the Usb connection is vital. It is strange, that there is nowhere a hint how board and pi are connected (usb, bluetooth or wifi or anything else).

Additionally it would be great to get some hints how to route cables and wires from the printer to the electronics (including which ‚holes‘ are meant to be used for fastening).
