Can an approval request be cancelled

I would like to know if the author of a guide who launch an approval request to publish a guide can cancel this request before the process is completed. He could then make some changes and relaunch the request.

Options

@simbed if you make an edit to a guide and then republish a release, a prompt will popup asking if you want to close the pending release. Click OK to cancel the open request.
