New Features

  • API v1.1 is well on its way, with many new features and endpoints.
    • 1.1 most notably includes the ability to write data back into Dozuki.
    • Because API 1.1 is so close, we recommend waiting to start new projects until we have released version 1.1, within the next month. If you'd like a developer preview of what API 1.1 will contain, please don't hesitate to contact us.
  • Created a new page view statistics tracking system that is more accurate.

Bug Fixes

  • Fixed numerous security vulnerabilities across the site. Many thanks to the helpful security researchers listed here.
  • Fixed accessing embed widgets for guides that no longer exist.
  • Fixed a case where the Image Drawer was giving a rather unhelpful error message: "Object | Object".
  • Fixed handling of certain fonts in Internet Explorer.
  • Made the ordering of the Permissions, Tags, and Privacy modules on the right side of guide edit pages consistent across all stages of guide editing.
  • Changed some backend text encodings from Latin-1 to Unicode.
  • Fixed an error some customers were encountering when updating their site's settings.
  • Made thumbnails in the Media Manager consistently-sized.
  • Fixed a bug in site creation for customers with long names.
  • Fixed a bug that was preventing PDF generation for some guides.
  • Improved error messages on new Dozuki signups.
  • Hide User Messaging Reports link in the /Manage interface if User Messaging is not enabled for the site.
  • Fixed a bug that allowed new steps to sometimes be accepted automatically when they should have been patrolled.
  • Fixed a bug that allowed users not on teams to view the private guides of other users who were not on teams.
  • Improved error messages in the Media Manager.
  • Fixed PDF generation for guides that included introductory videos.
  • Fixed preview images of cropped or marked-up images.
  • Fixed a variety of issues with sites whose names contained hyphens.
  • Fixed image upload on SSL-everywhere sites.
  • Improved error messages when indenting a step line too far.
  • Fixed step character count to not include wiki syntax.
  • Added parsing of Youtube short-links (e.g. when embedding videos.
  • Condensed the Tools and Parts list so that it takes up less space on guides.
  • Fixed some spacing issues in Answers.
  • Fixed styling on caption text for intro embed videos.


  • Improved image processing speed by another 20%!
  • Improved quality of all new images uploaded to Dozuki.
  • Decreased memory used in image uploading, allowing Dozuki to handle larger image uploads.
  • Improved page load speed across the entire site by 15%!
